Starting Mindfulness Meditation
Margaret Roche | MAR 26, 2025

Hello all! Today as I am re-launching my website, I thought, what do I want people to know right away? First, there is no right or wrong way to meditate. If you have tried it before and thought this is not for me, I offer you the opportunity to try again. Mindfulness Meditation is about being in the moment and recognizing what this moment has to offer. So even if you take a brief pause, breathe, and notice what is going on with and around you, you have done an informal mindful pause.
I look to encourage you to use mindful meditation, both formal and informal to enhance your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. This is an ongoing journey for me as well, so I hope we will have a wonderful trips together. I have found this practice extremely important to my own well-being. As a trainer and educator, I hope that you will find it helpful and meaningful also.
As with most mornings, I start my day with reading scripture and reflecting in prayer and the App I use most often is the YouVersion Bible App. Many times, when I use the focused prayer section, it encourages you to "Take a deep breath and let yourself slow down. Make space to enjoy God's presence." Every time I see this it reminds me that I can open space to feel and hear the presence of God by using my mindful meditation practices.
"Prayer is when you talk to God, Meditation is when you listen to God" --- Unknown
"Every morning, we are born again. What we do today is what matters most." - Buddha
"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer." - Psalms 19:14 NRSV
Have a blessed day! I hope to see you in class! Margie
