meditation and prayer

This morning, as I opened up my Bible App, today's verse was "Blessed are those who trust in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord" - Jeremiah 17:17 NRSV. This means different things to different people, and I am not here to tell you one way or the other. However, this along with several affirmations that I came across today, showed me a clear picture on creating time for yourself to stop and be in the moment. To reflect on the Divine, whomever that might be for you. To remember that we are in control of our own actions and to remain calm and tolerant during any challenging times. It reminded me that I can develop quiet hope and expectations based on trust both in myself and in a higher power. I have in me what I need, given to me by that higher power. I am in charge of my emotions and thoughts, nobody has power over them without my permission. Meditation and mindfully being in this moment can release you from day-to-day distractions allowing you to find patience, peace, and prayer time.

Your opportunity today is to stop, for even just 3 minutes, close your eyes, take a deep breath and let out a big sigh releasing tension from your body. Then do a quick scan of your body and note where other tension might be sitting and consciously take another deep breath and exhale a big sigh to release that tension and stress from your body. Returning to your normal breath, just sit and breath for a few moments allowing yourself this time for reflection, persistence and surrender, and allow things to unfold at their own pace. If it serves you say a little prayer, acknowledge your higher power. Take a deep breath and exhale begin your day again renewed in body, mind, and spirit.
